We know you'll all agree that the spirit of volunteerism is clearly evident in Howell.  Everywhere we have citizens lending their time and resources to the community and it is really no different here at the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority.

Two weeks ago we held our first RECreation RECognition RECeption to celebrate those that take the time to volunteer for us and who have contributed to the success that we have enjoyed this past year.  Supplementing the staff & the board are hundreds of volunteers who are extremely active and a major asset to our organization - from our teens to our seniors and everyone in between.   We've calculated over 8000 hours of volunteer service that is equal to approximately $165,000 in savings.

We are pleased to announce our 2008 Award Winners:
Instructor of the Year - Chris Oberg

Corporate Sponsor of the Year - Dr. Samuel Daniels

Organizational Volunteers of the Year - Gap Foundation
