Hello Everyone. Bad news this morning. Lou Becker has passed away. I talked with Jeanette and she said he had a heart attack. He is being cremated. There will be a Memorial Service later. Her address is Jeanette Becker, 4146 King Rd., East China, Michigan 48054. Phil

Who has been to one of Lou's "Mastadon Bar-b-que's"?
We need to institute such an event. Open to all hunters and gatherers.
(How do you cook one of them things?)

I went to that one and only one at Lou's. Best part was that is where I first met Chris Oberg!

Oberg says:
I remember Lou's mastodon cookout was my first exposure to dart throwers. Everyone seemed to hit whatever they threw at. Lou had a foam disk he rolled across the back yard for others to fling darts at and people were actually hitting the thing! Lou took a turn and threw several darts rapid fire darts without missing the bouncing disk once. With his last dart Lou made a direct hit on the cloths pin bag hanging from the clothes line way across the yard which brought out his wife who yelled at him to knock it off. Lou's barbeque hooked me for life on the art of the atlatl. I think it would be great to have another paleo picknick sometime in Lou's memory!
